Todd McShay reveals how Shedeur Sanders may have ruined chances of landing with Giants in NFL draft

Hints as to why the Giants pᴀssed on Shedeur Sanders are starting to trickle out.

In a podcast appearance Thursday night, The Ringer’s Todd McShay revealed that Giants brᴀss didn’t get the best pre-draft impression from Sanders.

“Shedeur didn’t have a great interview with Brian Daboll in a private visit,” McShay said.

“An install package came in. Preparation wasn’t there for it. [He] got called out on it. Didn’t like that. Brian didn’t appreciate him not liking it.”

NFL sources had similar sentiment for The Post’s Ryan Dunleavy after Round 1.

“Sanders’ slip is attributable to both flaws in his game and the brash atтιтude he displayed during the pre-draft process,” Dunleavy reported.

Sanders, who was once seen as a possible No. 1 overall pick, fell out of the first three rounds after all 32 teams pᴀssed on him during the draft’s first two days.

Instead of taking the Colorado quarterback, the Giants opted to use the No. 3 pick on Penn State pᴀss rusher Abdul Carter.

The franchise later traded up to No. 25 to take Ole Miss signal-caller Jaxson Dart, once again snubbing Sanders.

Daboll brushed off the Sanders question when asked about the McShay report during a press conference on Friday.

“I’d say we had good meetings with all the guys that came in here on 30 visits,” Daboll said. “Quarterback meetings were productive, and we’re happy with (quarterback) Jaxson (Dart).

“We met with some quarterbacks down there. We met with a variety of people, and you’re able to get some guys ahead of say the combine and see them do some different things, and he did a nice job there with some of the things that they asked him to do. So, it’s a very helpful part of the process.”

Giants general manager Joe Schoen also wouldn’t address Sanders specifically when asked after the team selected Darius Alexander in the third round.

“I’m not going to get into — this is Darius’s press conference and the New York Giants, so we can talk about that if you want, but I don’t want to talk about any other players,” he said when asked about Sanders.
