The NFL schedule announcement goes horribly at 2025 Draft

The 2025 NFL schedule release announcement was nothing short of cringe.

Midway through the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, the selection process was briefly interrupted to discuss next season’s schedule.

Not the actual schedule itself — or even one game — rather just the day it will be available to the public, which will be May 14.

During the production, reporters Laura Rutledge and Colleen Wolfe hyped up the schedule for next season, saying that fans will be “geeked out” to find when and where their teams are playing in 2025.

Cheers quickly dwindled in Green Bay, however, once the two revealed that the schedule would not come out until nearly three weeks from Thursday’s draft.

Many fans thought the exchange between the two was awkward, with Rutledge seen frequently glancing down at a notecard throughout the production.

Outside of the announcement blunder, this year’s draft has left fans excited, including a blockbuster trade which saw the Jaguars move up to the No. 2 pick to select Travis Hunter.

The Browns ultimately traded the second pick to Jacksonville, moving down to the fifth pick while acquiring additional ᴀssets from the Jaguars.

The move was seen as a shock to many, with Browns general manager Andrew Berry previously comparing the two-way hopeful to Shohei Ohtani.

Hunter, 21, has made it known that he fully plans to continue his two-way success in the NFL, telling CBS Sports that he would “never play again” if a team would only let him play on one side of the ball.

“I’ve been doing it my whole life, and I love being on the football field,” Hunter said. I feel like I could dominate on each side of the ball, so I really enjoy doing it.”

The Jaguars plan to use Hunter at both cornerback and receiver, per ESPN.
