ESPN cameras catch baby’s gross moment live during NFL Draft

ESPN cameras catch baby's gross moment live during NFL Draft

During what should have been one of the greatest moments of his life, Kelvin Banks Jr had some fatherly cleanup duties on his hands amidst the NFL Draft.

Banks, an offensive lineman out of the University of Texas, was selected ninth overall by the New Orleans Saints on Thursday evening.

Cameras showed the moment that Banks got the call that he was headed off to New Orleans as his family and friends celebrated.

But in the corner, his infant son, Khalil appeared to be jostled around by the clapping hands of Banks’ partner, Demetria.

Whether the movement was the cause of what happened next isn’t clear. But while the cameras were showing Banks’ living room, little Khalil lost his lunch – throwing up live on television.

Video of the moment was clipped and posted to social media as fans had a field day.

‘We just had a baby throw up during the NFL Draft,’ an X user wrote while posting the video.

Another user commented, ‘Kelvin Banks being drafted to the Saints was too much for the baby to handle.’

‘Kelvin Banks the 3rd thinks the #saints isn’t a good fit,’ another posted.

A different user said, ‘That baby at the Kelvin Banks watch party just yakked cuz it’s mom was moving around so much celebrating.’

It’s a celebration indeed as Banks is now off to the NFL and will be tasked with protecting Saints quarterback Derek Carr.

Banks was one of the top offensive line prospects in this year’s draft – and one of its most rewarded.

Last year in college, he won the Lombardi Award as the top offensive lineman in the nation. He also won the Outland Trophy as the nation’s best interior offensive lineman and earned All-American honors.

In 2024, the Saints went 5-12 and missed the playoffs for the fourth consecutive year.
