Brutal moment Lakers star Luka Doncic is trolled by rival to his face in sobering playoff defeat

Anthony Edwards and Luka Doncic went head-to-head during Saturday’s Game 1 between the Timberwolves and Lakers, with the American getting the last laugh during a crucial moment.

In the middle of the fourth quarter, the two sparred during a critical possession as Los Angeles was in the middle of its comeback attempt.

Edwards pulled up for a 3-pointer and swished it. The Team USA star was not done, pointing his fingers in the direction of Doncic and holding it in the air long enough for the Slovenian to see it.

The hand gesture appears to be similar to Spider-Man when he slings his web, holding his hand out with a few fingers outstretched.

Doncic did not take the gesture in stride as the game’s leading scorer with 37 points. LeBron James had the second most points for the Lakers with 19.

Edwards scored the third-most points for Minnesota, with 22, behind Jaden McDaniels and Naz Reid, who had 25 and 23 respectively.

The Timberwolves used a 18-point swing in the second quarter to take the lead over the Lakers and never looked back.

The Lakers have home court advantage in the series, as the Western Conference’s No 3 seed, with the underdog Timberwolves winning 117-95 at the final whistle.

Game 2 of the series is on Monday night, with Doncic again drawing the tough ᴀssignment to stop Edwards.

The two were on opposite sides of the Western Conference Finals last year, with Doncic on the Mavericks, who took down the Timberwolves.

Edwards may be looking for a little revenge against his old rival early in this series despite his shift in team.
