The NBA fined LA Clippers coach Ty Lue $35,000 for accusing referees of ‘cheating’ after a comeback win over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.

Lue was fined for ‘public criticism of the officiating and for questioning the integrity of the game officials,’ the NBA said in a release on Friday. This came after Lue was filmed yelling his sentiments following the 130-125 win.

His frustrations came from being ejected with two technical fouls early in the fourth quarter as the Clippers trailed the Warriors. Lue got tossed following a brief scuffle between both sides.

‘Where the refs at now? Cheating,’ Lue yelled to his players and staff outside the locker room. ‘That’s all they be doing.’

Lue also stated his displeasure with referee James Williams, who worked the game.

‘Where James at? The referee. I want to kick him in the mouth,’ Lue said in the video.

Following his ejection, the Clippers overcame a significant deficit to break Golden State’s five-game win streak without star forward Kawhi Leonard. They rallied behind James Harden’s 26 and Paul George’s 24 points.

Ivica Zubac and Amir Coffey also reached double digits with 13 and 14 points, respectively. Meanwhile, Russell Westbrook and Norman Powell scored 15 and 21 off the bench.

The Clippers have been red-H๏τ since acquiring Harden in November. Despite losing their first five games upon his arrival, the team found their stride and has gone 28-7 since early December.

Sitting third in the Western Conference, the Clippers currently hold a 36-17 record halfway through the season as they reemerge as тιтle contenders.
