Molly Qerim revealed that a crossover from Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parson sent Stephen A. Smith to the hospital ahead of the NBA All-Star Weekend.

Smith apparently had to get an x-ray after the mishap took place while preparing for the All-Star Celebrity Game in Indiana. On Friday, the First Take host started the program with the news as Smith was unable to join the opening segment.

‘This was not confirmed by Adrian Wojnarowski, this is what I was told by Stephen A,’ Qerim said. ‘If he wants to change the story when he gets here that’s fine. This is what I understand. Stephen A. Smith is one of the coaches in the Celebrity All-Star Game tonight.

‘So yesterday, SA had to get out there and they had a practice. So he started messing around with Micah Parsons. Micah crossed him over and all I know is Stephen A’s at the hospital right now getting x-rays.’

The two interacted when Parsons’ coach, Shannon Sharpe, no-showed their practice on Thursday. As a result, Smith decided to have a little bit of fun with the Cowboys star on the court while also scouting the opposition.

Although the reported incident was not documented, Smith posted a video from the practice where he revealed how they planned on guarding Parsons. Smith argued that Parsons’ linebacker tendencies will make it easy to draw offensive fouls from him.

When Smith joined the First Take crew later in the program, he told a different story. Not denying that he was brought to the hospital early on Friday, he cited a wet surface as the reason.

‘That damn Micah Parsons is on the basketball court acting like he’s trying to sack quarterbacks and pushing people around,’ Smith said.

‘He and I were shooting around, shooting against one another. And it was some sweat on the floor. I was literally just about to pull up shooting [and] I literally bust my ᴀss. Feet flying in the air and ‘bam’.

Smith went on to narrate how he got up and kept shooting but started to feel discomfort in the middle of the night. He then praised the NBA for quickly sending a doctor to his aid after saying he could not walk with the pain.

With no severe injuries, Smith is equipped with a brace and boot as he gears up to go head to head with Sharpe and Parsons. Team Smith boasts the likes of WNBA star Natasha Cloud and NFL players Mecole Hardman and CJ Stroud.

Meanwhile, among Parsons’ comrades in Team Sharpe are Puka Nacua, Conor Dally and Jewel Lloyd. Both sides also have big names in entertainment, music and social media filling up their rosters.

‘I got to see who I’m gonna play and who I’m gonna put on the bench,’ Smith said. ‘I’m not losing this game tonight, okay?’

‘You should have stuck with my story,’ Qerim replied.
