For a century, the mummified remains of this Guanche native from the Canary Islands were kept in the warehouses of the Museum of Anthropology, in Atocha.
Last December 2015 it was transferred to the National Archaeological Museum, where it will occupy a place in the archaeological section of the fortunate islands.
The interest aroused in our fellow citizens by the mummies of ancient Egypt is notorious. Exhibitions about Egypt have always caused long queues.
That is why it is striking how little interest there has been to date in the mummies that are preserved in Madrid. Mummified bodies with techniques similar to those of the pharaohs, and most of which correspond to Catholic saints, although we also have mummies of kings and others of an archaeological type.

Another of the mummies preserved in the Anthropological Museum is this one of an American Indian with a baby. It is possibly a woman who died during childbirth.
This mummy was found by the military doctor Manuel Almagro in 1866, in the Atacama Desert. In 1970 its trace was lost, but recently, a researcher at the museum recovered it from a forgotten drawer in the depths of the museum building.
This unusual mummy that preserves its original braids is dated to the year 1500. Her maternal gesture still produces astonished tenderness.
