Staggering amount Dallas Cowboys star CeeDee Lamb spends on maintaining his body for the NFL

CeeDee Lamb may have $53 million in career earnings, but as the Dallas Cowboys receiver revealed to Complex, a good chunk of that gets reinvested right back into his body.

Asked how much he spends maintaining his conditioning annually, the 6-foot-2, 201-pound All-Pro puts that figure somewhere in the range of $1.3 million.

‘I’m not going to lie,’ he said. ‘It’s a lot of money. Every two weeks is $50,000…there’s 52 weeks in a year…That’s your number.’

That figure, while unthinkable to most, might be in the range of possibility. LeBron James’ friend Maverick Carters told NBA reporter Alex Kennedy in 2018 that the four-time MVP spends around $1.5 million annually on a number of treatments, including cryotherapy and hyperbaric chambers. And if that is true, the fact that James still ranks among the league leaders in several categories suggests it’s money well spent.

Lamb’s routine isn’t altogether different from James’. He also uses hyperbaric chambers, as well as ice baths, H๏τ tubs, saunas, steam rooms, and even red-light therapy.

‘The list could go on and on,’ he says.

‘What I do for a living, it’s very physical, and some short weeks are more lethal than your regular seven-day schedule. So I’m just staying on top of that and always trying to replenish the body, stay hydrated, keep my muscle functioning up, and trying to get a lead on my opponent.’

Unfortunately for Lamb, the treatments couldn’t prevent his season-ending shoulder injury that cost him the final two games of 2024.

Fortunately, he’s been rehabbing this offseason and appears to be on track to return in 2025 after reworking his four-year, $150 million contract extension to free up some cap space in Dallas.

Despite his injury, Lamb still finished 2024 with 101 receptions, 1,194 yards and six touchdowns over 15 games, while the Cowboys finished 7-10.

Since then, head coach Mike McCarthy has moved on in favor of former offensive coordinator Brian ScH๏τtenheimer, who is currently preparing for the NFL Draft.

‘I think there’s a lot of depth on the defensive line. Both interior and on the edge,’ ScH๏τtenheimer told reporters this week.

‘I think there’s a lot of depth obviously with the running back position. I mean, there’s guys at every level with every different grade on them that you’re like, the difference is not that huge.’
