2025 NFL Draft odds: Mᴀssive favorite emerges for Giants with No. 3 pick

2025 NFL Draft odds: Mᴀssive favorite emerges for Giants with No. 3 pick

If the betting market – and most mock drafts – are to be believed, Abdul Carter is just a few days away from becoming the newest member of the New York Giants.

The Penn State pᴀss rusher is -450 to be selected third overall at BetMGM sportsbook, which equates to an 81.8 percent chance when you convert the odds to implied probability.

Carter is considered by some to be the top overall prospect in this year’s class, but the No. 1 overall pick belongs to the Tennessee тιтans, who are desperate to draft a quarterback.

That signal-caller will almost certainly be Cam Ward, the prohibitive favorite to go to Tennessee at the top of the draft.

There is some scuttleʙuтт about who the Cleveland Browns will take at No. 2, but all signs point to two-way sensation Travis Hunter out of Colorado.

The Browns – stop me if you’ve heard this before – also need a quarterback, and Shedeur Sanders will be there to tempt them, but Cleveland seems content with going with the talented Hunter and finding a franchise quarterback down the road.

The Giants had been linked to Hunter and Sanders in the early stages of Mock Draft Season, but all the tea leaves seem to point to Carter being their guy.

It’s not just the tea leaves; general manager Joe Schoen seemed to tip his hand when he met with the media on Wednesday.

“Everybody watched the Super Bowl, right?” he asked. “[The Philadelphia Eagles] rushed with how many? Four the whole game? That’s one way to do it. If you think about any of these players that may or may not be in the mix, as a unique player like [Carter] that played off the ball for two years and has only played one season off the edge, and had a really good season.”

Betting on the NFL?

Perhaps that can change if the Browns pᴀss on Hunter and go with Sanders (or, less likely, with Carter), but the odds of that seem minuscule.

BetMGM has Hunter at -450 to go second.

For much of Big Blue’s dreadful season, it was expected that the Giants would be selecting a quarterback with their first pick, but the arrival of Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston to East Rutherford quieted down that talk pretty quickly, leaving plenty of folks to ponder if the G-Men had their sights set on Arch Manning in the 2026 NFL Draft.
