Clip of Travis Kelce reading his negative NFL Draft profile goes viral after resurfacing online

An old video of Travis Kelce reading his player profile ahead of the 2013 NFL Draft.

Early into his NFL career in 2017, the Kansas City Chiefs тιԍнт end appeared on The Dan Patrick Show during the NFL Draft Combine and was handed his scouting report from four years prior.

Kelce was at the University of Cincinnati for five seasons. However, he only played three (2009, 2011, and 2012) and redshirted his freshman year. He was also suspended for a year in 2010 after testing positive for marijuana.

Upon his entry into the Draft, there were plenty of doubts surrounding his athleticism and character.

‘Weakness: only one season of production in college,’ Kelce read. ‘Doesn’t have blazing speed,’ talk about 80 yards to the house. Merry Christmas, whoever wrote that.’

‘Not a tremendously explosive athlete,’ the list continued. ‘Doesn’t come out of his brakes that well. [Kelce] plays with the pedal to the metal, which isn’t always a good thing.’

The profile went on to discuss his route-running ability and arsenal. Furthermore, it highlighted his questionable character.

After being labeled a ‘one-year wonder’ Patrick asked Kelce how much of the report was factual, to which he replied, ‘I wanna say no.’

‘But somebody’s opinions so I can’t say it’s completely false,’ Kelce added. ‘He isn’t a tremendous athlete’ hurts my feelings.’

Kelce proved the draft profile wrong when he arrived in the league as he became one of the best тιԍнт ends in NFL history.

In his rookie season, Kelce made 67 receptions for 862 yards and five touchdowns. In the year of his appearance on Patrick’s show, Kelce made 83 catches for 1,038 yards and eight touchdowns.

Kelce now holds three Super Bowl тιтles, four First-Team All-Pro and ten Pro Bowl nods.

The Cleveland Heights native will return to Kansas City this upcoming season after his rumored retirement following the Super Bowl in February. Kansas City was one victory away from a three-peat before getting blown out by the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans.
