There is something teams should know if they are planning to pick Travis Hunter in the 2025 NFL Draft.
A presumed top-three draft pick come next Thursday’s draft, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner who starred as a two-way player on both offense and defense has no plans of slowing down in the NFL.
“It’s never playing football again,” Hunter told CBS Sports when asked what would happen if an NFL team asked him to play only one way.
“Because I’ve been doing it my whole life, and I love being on the football field. I feel like I could dominate on each side of the ball, so I really enjoy doing it.”
Hunter played 713 offensive snaps and 748 defensive snaps in 2024.
Hunter accumulated 1,258 receiving yards on offense to go along with 15 touchdowns while catching pᴀsses from star quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

Hunter also intercepted four pᴀsses while on defense and forced a fumble en route to earning college football’s top individual honor.
Hunter is confident the jump to the NFL — and the extra physical tax that comes with it — should not stop him from dominating on both offense and defense.

“I just feel very confident in myself, and I got a compeтιтive spirit that I can do whatever I put my mind to, and I feel like I can do it,” Hunter said.
As Hunter gets older, though, former NFL wide receiver Steve Smith recently said he will need to pick one position while attending his pro day.
“That’s why he most likely will have to play one position,” Smith said. “Primarily so he can master his craft. Because you never want to be a jack of all trades and a master of none. They don’t pay masters of none, they pay craftsman.”
The Browns are heavily considering drafting Hunter with the No. 2 pick, and betting odds reflect that sentiment.
