The Seattle Seahawks have re-signed quarterback Drew Lock to be the new backup to Sam Darnold.
Lock, 28, is expected to sign a two-year, $5million deal, per ESPN, after playing the 2024 season with the New York Giants.
Lock appeared in eight games with New York, posting a 1-4 record in five starts with 1,071 yards, six touchdown pᴀsses and five interceptions. He also rushed for two scores.
In five seasons with the Denver Broncos, Seahawks and Giants, Lock is 10-18 as a starter, completing 59.6 percent of his pᴀsses for 6,354 yards with 34 touchdowns and 28 interceptions. He also has seven rushing scores.
Lock was a second-round pick of the Broncos in 2019 and came to Seattle in the 2022 trade that sent Russell Wilson to Denver.
Lock’s return continues a busy offseason of recruitment for the Seahawks after they missed out on the playoffs last time around.

Sam Darnold poses with OC Klint Kubiak (L) and head coach Mike Macdonald (R) after signing
They won the race to secure Darnold’s signature after his sublime year with the Minnesota Vikings and also landed Cooper Kupp from the Los Angeles Rams.
Darnold signed a three-year deal in March worth just over $100m as the replacement for Geno Smith, who is now in Las Vegas.
The 27-year-old Darnold has been reunited with new Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. The two worked together in 2023, when Darnold backed up Brock Purdy with the San Francisco 49ers.
Meanwhile, Kupp agreed to a three-year, $45m deal last month in what rates as a homecoming after he grew up roughly 140 miles away in Yakima, Washington and was later an FCS star at Eastern Washington.
