NBA star Anthony Edwards' paternity battle with ex-girlfriend is decided

Anthony Edwards has reportedly agreed to give his ex-girlfriend, Ayesha Howard, full custody of their 5-month-old daughter, Aubri’, bringing an end to the paternity battle between the parties.

The conclusion of the vociferous legal battle between the two comes after Aubri’ was born in October 2024, with Edwards and Howard not being a couple during that time.

The Team USA star reportedly told a Georgia court that he is giving Howard temporary sole legal and physical custody of their daughter, per Page Six.

As Edwards has been on the road during the NBA season, Howard told Us Weekly she has been the sole caregiver for Aubri’ since her birth.

Now the court must determine Edwards’ child support contributions, which should be a substantial amount with him making $42million this season.

The legal battel between Howard and Edwards has lasted the entire time that Aubri’ has been alive, until this week.

The 38-yeard-old Howard gave birth to Aubri’ on October 14, with Edwards, 23, being identified as the father.

Howard and Edwards reportedly had a relationship where they ‘spent time together in various cities while he played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, and during his off-season’ before she found out she was pregnant last year.

Howard is also the mother to a son, Jason, 9, whose father is rapper Lil Baby.

Edwards has been dating his girlfriend, Shannon Jackson, since 2020, with the pair having a daughter Aislynn, who was born last March.

Last October, Jackson was unbothered by the fact that her boyfriend of four years, Edwards, cheated on her and fathered a child with another woman.

‘I’ll say this, Y’all just finding out,’ Jackson said on social media at the time. ‘You were saying that I was hurting on the inside or whatever the case, and I’m just… you gotta pick a side. I’m not a wife.’
