Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes face make-or-break business decision together

Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are renowned for their cohesion on the football field but now, the Kansas City Chiefs stars need to make sure it carries over into the business world.

Last March, the NFL stars announced they were partnering up to open an American steakhouse in Kansas City called ‘1587 Prime’ – the name being a combination of their Chiefs jersey numbers.

At the time, the restaurant was slated for an early 2025 opening but as we approach the midpoint of the year, it is still yet to open its doors.

But that day might be getting near as Kelce and Mahomes have now put out a job advert for an executive chef to join their team.

The description, as per the LinkedIn post, requires someone to be ‘responsible for the overall food quality of all food items… trains and oversees all back of house employees and areas, ensures company standards and may be responsible for seasonal specials and menu changes.’

The advert also reveals some fascinating details about the restaurant, saying that the steakhouse will be ‘welcoming guests to indulge in an unparalleled culinary journey spanning nearly 10,000 square feet across two floors’ and that it ‘will boast multiple private dining rooms, a world-class chef’s kitchen, and a meat display.’

Furthermore, the salary will be between $90,000-$110,000-a-year.

Speaking in 2024 to Fox4KC, Mahomes revealed that he and Kelce had long considered going into the restaurant business together.

‘Me and Travis been working on it for a while,’ he said. We always see these restaurants and we have a love for bringing people together.

‘I think the biggest thing for us is we’re gonna do whatever we can to keep bringing people together and what better place than Kansas City?’

‘Hopefully we can win some games at Arrowhead Stadium and then we get to go over and have a few drinks and food with it.’

Mahomes added that he and Kelce plan to keep prices modest so that everyone can visit.

‘We don’t wanna make it too upscale, too high priced that not everybody can go,’ he added.

‘We’re gonna make it a place where hopefully Kansas City can call it home and that everybody can be there and really enjoy it.’

Mahomes and Kelce have partnered with Noble 33 – a hospitality group with a vast lineup of restaurants – for the venture.

Kelce said last year: ‘We’re excited to be a part of this journey with Noble 33 to create a one-of-a-kind dining experience, and what better place to start than our very own, Kansas City.’

Entrepreneur Tosh Berman, who works closely with Noble 33, says the Kansas City stars have also shared a number original ideas, including ‘hyper-subtle’ nods to their respective NFL achievements.
