Fans troll Shedeur Sanders for imitating Patrick Mahomes at his Colorado pro day

NFL fans are trolling top draft prospect Shedeur Sanders for imitating Patrick Mahomes’ behind-the-back pᴀss during his pro day this week.

Plenty of league coaches were on hand at Colorado to watch Sanders and highly touted teammate Travis Hunter in their last big public display before the NFL Draft, with both men expected to be chosen within the first five selections.

Mahomes’ famous behind-the-back pᴀss was done during a preseason game against the Detroit Lions last August.

The play went for a first down and an 8-yard gain with Travis Kelce on the receiving end.

Sanders did it without any true defensive compeтιтion as he showed off for NFL scouts.

Football fans on social media could not help but make the comparison once it occurred.

‘Shedeur channels Mahomes! That play was pure magic!’ one NFL fan stated.

‘No where near mahomes,’ another person said on X.

‘That’s cute but Mahomes hasn’t thrown a behind the back pᴀss because it would get knocked down,’ a third continued.

‘Definitely should be first overall pick after that,’ one final fan concluded.

Sanders has not drawn comparisons to Mahomes before but is hopeful to replicate his professional career.

Mahomes is already a three-time Super Bowl winner and has appeared in five championship games.

Sanders is not likely to fall beyond pick No 3 at the NFL Draft, with several quarterback-needing teams picking high.

Alongside Cam Ward, Sanders is considered the best quarterback available in the draft.
