Cleveland Browns mourn tragic pᴀssing of family member and 'Hard Knocks' star

The Cleveland Browns are mourning the loss of their beloved office dog, Moose, who pᴀssed away at 10 years old.

On Thursday, the Browns shared the heartbreaking news with a 36-second montage of Moose meeting players, and fans, and mingling with employees at the team’s headquarters.

‘We’re sad to announce that Moose, our beloved office dog and Hard Knocks star, has pᴀssed away,’ they wrote. ‘We already miss your presence around the building, buddy.’

They also added a graphic reading ‘In Loving Memory, Moose, September 24, 2014 – March 29, 2025.

The second post included pictures of Moose wearing a S’mores costume and another sporting a party hat while hanging out under a desk.

Moose stayed in the Browns facility in Berea, Ohio 24/7 and kept employees company, boosting the morale during work days.

The four-legged family member was also featured during Cleveland’s season of HBO’s Hard Knocks. During the series, they showed his day-to-day duties, including a scene with former manager John Dorsey.

Moose’s pᴀssing follows another tragic season in Cleveland as the team finished with a 3-14 record. After scoring their third win against Pittsburgh, the Browns skidded through their last six games.

Their struggles continue to reflect in their playoff history, with their last postseason appearances in 2002, 2020, and 2023.

Off the field, it has been a heartbreaking year for the Brown and their live mascots. Before Moose, another live mascot, Swagger Jr., died at five years old in 2024.

His father, Swagger, lost his battle with cancer in 2020.
