Deshaun Watson hears the noise coming from Cleveland.
One day after Browns owner Jimmy Haslam lambasted the team’s quarterback as a “swing and miss” by the front office, Watson posted multiple pictures of himself working out as he recovers from two Achilles injuries.
“Maybe, if I weren’t built for this, I’d let it phase me,” Watson said Tuesday in an Instagram post.
Watson was built for it earlier in his career with the Texans, but the star quarterback from Clemson has looked like a shell of himself since being traded to the Browns.
Watson was dealt to Cleveland in March 2022 for multiple draft picks and gifted a five-year, fully guaranteed contract worth $230 million, despite accusations of Sєxual misconduct from multiple mᴀssage therapists.
Watson has been mediocre on the field, throwing for 19 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 19 games across three injury-plagued and suspension-riddled seasons.
Now, he will attempt to come back from two torn Achilles since October — the second suffered while rehabbing the first — and will likely miss the entire 2025 season.
Haslam’s comments were viewed as the Browns giving up on the 29-year-old quarterback, who is owed $46 million in each of the next two seasons.
The Browns are sitting with the No. 2 overall pick in the draft and could decide to draft Shedeur Sanders with the other top QB, Cam Ward, expected to go No. 1 overall to the тιтans.
Kenny Pickett currently sits atop the Browns’ quarterback depth chart after being acquired in a March trade with the Eagles.
