Chiefs fans left stunned by Andy Reid's shock offseason transformation

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has left fans in disbelief after appearing to ditch his trademark mustache during the NFL offseason.

In a stunning pH๏τo shared by the Chiefs, Reid – who failed to pull off a famous three-peat at Super Bowl LIX in February – is seen sporting a new clean-shaven look alongside team owner Clark Hunt, GM Brett Veach and president Mark Donovan.

Kansas City wrote as the caption: ‘The boys are back together once again!’

However, fans were quick to point out that Reid’s shock transformation has conveniently been revealed on April Fool’s Day.

One user commented: ‘this gotta be an april fools joke no way loll’.

‘April Fools! Andy didn’t shave his mustache,’ another said confidently.

A third asked: ‘Did you guys pH๏τoshop Andy’s mustache out?’

‘Where’s Andy’s mustache? This gotta be an April fools joke!’ wrote a fourth.

While one simply posted: ‘Oh, that’s a good one’.

Given he was pictured with his mustache perfectly intact at Monday’s NFL Annual League Meeting in Palm Beach, it’s safe to say the Chiefs’ pH๏τoshop experts have worked their magic on Reid for April Fool’s Day.

The 67-year-old’s facial hair has become iconic over the years, with a Kansas City supporter even donning a fake mustache while dressing up as their legendary head coach at Arrowhead Stadium back in November.

Reid opened up on the inspiration behind his mustache back in 2012, revealing he stopped shaving it following the death of his high school offensive line coach Andy Cheschelski – who had a similar look.

‘Those guys have been watching over me since I was a kid, and I really appreciate all they’ve done for me in my life,’ Reid told Sports Illustrated. ‘My wife doesn’t even know why I’m doing this.

‘I just thought it would be a good way to honor them.’
