Former NFL kicker Jay Feely is ‘seriously considering’ running for the House Of Representatives in Arizona, according to reports.

Feely, who played for a host of NFL teams including the New York Giants, Atlanta Falcons and Arizona Cardinals, now works as an analyst for CBS.

But the 48-year-old is said to be eyeing up a move into politics as early as next year, having become an ally – and occasional golf partner – of president Donald Trump.

According to the Washington Post and Arizona Republic, he is considering a run in the state’s 5th district.

Andy Biggs, a Republican who has been in the house since 2017, currently holds the seat. But he has announced his candidacy for governor of Arizona, with the elections slated for 2026.

Feely would not be the first sports media personality to consider a move into politics in the wake of Trump’s return to the White House.

ESPN star Stephen A. Smith has teased a possible run for President after a poll revealed that he would receive more support than several big-name Democrats

‘If they told me I had a legitimate, bona fide sH๏τ to win the presidency of the United States of America, I would entertain it,’ he told DailyMail.com

‘Because the part that I’m not joking about is I believe I could beat every candidate on that poll. Every candidate that they mentioned, from Kamala Harris right on down to (Pete) ʙuттigieg and to Tim Walz. I’d beat all of them. I do believe that. I really do.’

Several football figures have run for Congress in recent years, including ex-Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville, who is now a senator from Alabama.

Herschel Walker – who won the Heisman Trophy in 1982 – ran for the Senate in 2022, only to be beaten after a scandal-ridden campaign.

He was, among other things, accused of paying ex-partners to have abortions – Walker denied the allegations – but back in December, Trump nominated Walker to be ambᴀssador to the Bahamas.
