Russell Wilson and Ciara stun at charity event as they celebrate quarterback's New York Giants move

Russell Wilson’s whirlwind week ended on a high this weekend with $3million raised for two charities alongside his wife, the singer Ciara.

The 36-year-old shared four pictures from his night out with Ciara on social media with the caption: ‘So Grateful! $3 Million Raised last night with this beautiful lady.

‘Our Why Not You Foundation and The V Foundation came together this weekend for “Victory Over Cancer”‘.

In one of the four pictures Wilson posted, he can been holding a football in his hand with Ciara ready to high-five someone in the crowd, while the New York Giants crest is on a wall behind him.

Wilson and Ciara founded the Why Not You foundation in 2014 and his brother Harry works on the board. The V foundation is a cancer charity that both Wilson and Ciara work closely in partnership with.

The stunning news about raising millions came after Wilson signed with the New York Giants on a one-year deal last week. The 36-year-old, a Super Bowl winner with the Seattle Seahawks, had left the Pittsburgh Steelers after getting them to the playoffs in his only season with the team.

Wilson’s deal to play in New York is worth $21.5m including incentives, with $10.5m guaranteed.

It’s a move that has ignited some excitement around the organization after two miserable campaigns for the Giants.

Last year, quarterback Daniel Jones was struggling so badly he was eventually cut by the team – under two years after surprisingly getting them to the playoffs.

The arrival of Wilson adds more intrigue over what the Giants are going to be doing at the NFL draft, as well.

They hold the third pick, and have been consistently linked with drafting former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

But after also bolstering the quarterback room with the arrival of Jameis Winston – and bringing Tommy DeVito back – it might make sense for head coach Brian Daboll to consider Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter.

Wilson, though, is thrilled to get going and has big plans to get the Giants going in 2025.

‘I expect to be the starter and come in here and be ready to rock and roll every day,’ he said last week.

‘I think this team’s really looking for somebody to lead them in every way. I’m focused on winning, what I can do as a quarterback of the New York Giants to help us win and to do everything that we can to lead.’
