Chiefs star Nazeeh Johnson's mom hits out at Kansas City fans slamming team's decision to bring him back

Nazeeh Johnson’s surprise return to the Kansas City has been met with shock and surprise by certain parts of Chiefs Kingdom – but the cornerback has his mom to protect him.

The Super Bowl runners up announced cornerback Johnson’s new deal on Thursday as head coach Andy Reid rebuilds his roster ahead of the 2025 season.

The 26-year-old struggled in 2024 in the four starts he made – he totaled 16 appearances overall – but he now has another sH๏τ at cementing a place in Steve Spagnuolo’s defense.

The news was greeted with surprise by Chiefs fans, with one saying: ‘Did I miss a few days… Is it April already?’

Another wrote: ‘Another year of getting burnt, blowing coverages and failing to tackle, I’m so excited.’

But Johnson’s mom, Kisha Brown, was watching the comments roll in and wasn’t prepared to ignore them.

In response to the Chiefs fan page Arrowhead Live calling for fans to leave Johnson alone, she said: ‘Who cares!! The Chiefs have spoken and I am loving this!!

‘Keep talking please. It means yall paying a lot attention! We appreciate you.’

In another post, she wrote: ‘To all the HATERS, Thank you for All the Support we appreciate you for making my Son work, Even harder!! Lets ago Chiefs.’

She also responded to a fan telling her to ignore ‘the haters’ by saying: ‘Thank you, it’s nothing but love for them too! He’s back thats enough to shut then up a little.’

She also told another Chiefs fan that for Johnson himself, the negativity ‘pushes him harder.’

The Chiefs lost the Super Bowl in February 40-22 against Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans, trailing 34-0 at one stage of the game.

After their hopes of an unprecedented Super Bowl ‘three-peat’ were ruined, Chiefs тιԍнт end Travis Kelce gave retirement serious consideration before eventually deciding to play on.

Johnson, Kelce and the rest of the team lead by Patrick Mahomes will begin the new season in September.
