“What if the Giants have a choice between Abdul Carter and Travis Hunter?” sounds a lot more optimistic than “What if the Giants can’t get either Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders?”
The Giants still plan to draft a quarterback, but the recent signings of Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston opened the possibility that the Giants could draft the best player available at No. 3 and wait to add a developmental prospect in the middle rounds.
Instead of panicking that Sanders might be picked at No. 2 by the Browns, the Giants could consider pᴀssing even if he is on the board.
