Giants meet with Joe Flacco as Aaron Rodgers wait continues

Quarterbacks are coming off the board in free agency, the Giants still need one and they can’t wait forever to see what Aaron Rodgers decides to do.

They are looking at all sorts of veteran quarterbacks, and on Thursday, they brought in one of the older ones in the league, meeting with Joe Flacco at the team facility.

The Post earlier this week reported that the Giants would have some interest in Flacco, a 40-year old with 17 seasons on his NFL résumé.

At this point, they need to consider all options.

The Giants failed to lure Matthew Stafford away from the Rams, made an offer to Rodgers and will speak with Russell Wilson on Friday when he comes in for a visit.

As the market heats up for quarterbacks, Gardner Minshew signed with the Chiefs, Mac Jones went to the 49ers, Jacoby Brissett joined the Cardinals and Mason Rudolph returned to the Steelers.

The Giants have only Tommy DeVito on the roster and need to add two quarterbacks.

The plan is to sign a veteran capable of starting opening day, if need be, and then select one up high in next month’s NFL draft.

The Giants own the No. 3 overall pick.

Flacco never seems to go away.

He played decently in 2024 for the Colts, going 2-4 in six starts and completing 65.3 percent of his pᴀsses with 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

His howitzer right arm remains strong, but he is not what he was during his heyday as a Super Bowl winner with the Ravens.

He is an option for the Giants, if they miss out on Rodgers and Wilson.

Flacco in Week 17 last season lit it up against the Giants, completing 26 of 38 pᴀsses for 330 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in what turned out to be a fateful 45-33 Giants victory to end a 10-game losing streak — and cost the Giants the No. 1 pick in the draft.
