Joey Bosa signing $12.6 million contract to join Bills after Chargers release

Joey Bosa has a new home.

And it’s the opposite side of the country.

The five-time Pro Bowler is signing with the Bills on a one-year, $12.6 million contract, ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported.

Bosa can make as much as $15.6 million with incentives.

Bosa was released by the Chargers last week in a move that saved the team $25.36 million with a $11.111 million ᴅᴇᴀᴅ money charge this year, according to Over the Cap.

The Bills cut outside linebacker Von Miller on Sunday in what was also a cap-saving move ($8.4 million), and the Bosa move gives Buffalo a de facto replacement in the pᴀss rush game.

The 2016 Defensive Rookie of the Year has four seasons of double-digit sacks in his career, but hasn’t attained the same heights over the last three seasons, thanks in large part to injuries.

Bosa broke a hand in training camp and dealt with a glute strain this past season, but still managed five sacks and 22 tackles to earn a Pro Bowl nod.

NFL Network reported after his Los Angeles release that he would have free agency options — including joining his brother Nick with the 49ers.

Their mother, Cheryl, was in favor of joining the siblings on the San Francisco defense.

“Can we get a peтιтion going on bringing [Joey Bosa] to the Bay,” she wrote in an Instagram story on Thursday.

Buffalo ranked 19th in the NFL (39) in sacks and yielded the fifth-highest completion percentage to opposing quarterbacks (68.5) in 2024 as they fell one win short of a Super Bowl appearance.

Bosa has 72 sacks over nine seasons.
