How Justin Fields celebrated $40 million Jets deal

How Justin Fields celebrated million Jets deal

Justin Fields is having a good time in Dubai — and there’s 40 million reasons why.

The new Jets quarterback enjoyed a joyous celebration in Dubai alongside fellow NFL stars while free agency opened across the world, as captured in a video posted by Bleacher Report.

The video does not say when the festivities happened, but Bleacher Report’s post indicated it occurred after Fields signed a two-year, $40 million deal with the Jets that includes $30 million guaranteed.

Fields is in Dubai alongside fellow NFL stars Micah Parsons, Bijan Robinson and Kyle Pitts, and the dual-threat quarterback — along with plenty of others in what appeared to be a restaurant — filmed the party scene as staffers held sparklers and seemingly a bottle of champagne above them while standing on the back of the seating area.

The group chanted “Hey” while Fields and Pitts seemed to be having a grand time.

ᴀssuming this scene unfolded after Fields landed his deal, it certainly makes sense why he would be all smiles.

The Jets are paying Fields strong money to be their quarterback after the Steelers demoted him for Russell Wilson last year.

Talent and rushing ability have never been questions for Fields, but the concern has been how the 26-year-old can elevate a pᴀssing game and if he can lead a top offensive unit.

Fields went 4-2 and threw five touchdowns to one interception last year as Pittsburgh’s starter, while adding 231 rushing yards and five rushing scores.

In four of those games, though, he failed to clear 160 pᴀssing yards.

The 2021 first-round pick out of Ohio State has thrown 45 touchdowns to 31 interceptions in his career, while also adding 19 rushing touchdowns.

Fields will have a chance to build off last year’s modest success with the Jets, where expectations will be low while he works alongside former Buckeyes teammate Garrett Wilson and star running back Breece Hall.

His two-year deal allows the Jets flexibility in that it won’t hurt too much to escape the deal should it go south, while they will have him for a second year should he thrive.
