Giants sign Roy Robertson-Harris in NFL free agency to add crucial depth

The Giants needed bodies to fill their depth chart at defensive tackle and added a veteran into the mix, agreeing to terms Monday with Roy Robertson-Harris on a two-year, $9 million deal.

Harris, 31, is an eight-year NFL veteran, arriving in the league as an undrafted free agent in 2017.

He spent his first four seasons with the Bears, moved onto the Jaguars and was traded to the Seahawks during the 2024 season.

He has played in 117 games, with 62 starts, and has 19 career sacks.

The 6-foot-5, 290-pound Robertson-Harris is not a big-bodied interior defensive lineman.

The Giants have one of those in 342-pound Dexter Lawrence and are looking to add to the position.

This is the second player on defense the Giants added on the first day they were allowed to negotiate with free agents.

They agreed to terms with cornerback Paulson Adebo, who comes over from the Saints on a three-year deal worth up to $54 million.
