DK Metcalf is headed to the Steel City.
The Seahawks and Steelers pulled off a blockbuster trade that sent the star wide receiver to Pittsburgh in exchange for the Steelers second-round pick in this April’s draft, while Metcalf will get a brand-new five-year, $150 million contract from his new club, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
The trade will also include the two teams swapping picks in the sixth and seventh rounds of this year’s draft, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.

Prior to the trade, reports had indicated that Metcalf was hoping to go to a warm-weather city in any sort of deal, but his representatives pushed back on that on Sunday night, according to Pellissero.
Metcalf is “all-in” on his new team and chief among the things Metcalf wanted from his new team were a fresh start, a compeтιтive team and a new deal, according to the report.
Metcalf is entering the final year of his three-year extension that he signed back in 2022 and the one remaining year on that contract is $18 million.
The Steelers are getting a receiver who has put up at least 1,000 yards in three of his six NFL seasons during the course of his career and is coming off a 2024 where he had 992 receiving yards and five touchdowns for the Seahawks.

And the wide receiver joins a Steelers team that didn’t properly replace Diontae Johnson after they traded him last March.
George Pickens led the Steelers wide receiver group with 900 receiving yards and three touchdowns last year.
Steelers general manager Omar Khan told reporters at the combine that his team would be active in free agency and it seems they are off to a quick start right before the legal tampering period opens on Monday.
The big question now becomes, who will be throwing the football to Metcalf come the start of the season?
The Steelers are said to be interested in bringing back Justin Fields, but he has yet to re-sign with the team.
