Myles Garrett has reportedly issued a threat to the Cleveland Browns ownership amid his trade war with the franchise.
Last month the defensive star demanded a trade as he’s seemingly uninterested in continuing with the franchise which seems to be in a constant state of re-building.
However, the Browns aren’t about to let their best player walk without a fight just because he asked them for a ticket out of Cleveland.
With the two sides locked in a standoff, Garrett reportedly requested to meet with owner Jimmy Haslam, according to Tom Pelissero.
However, the Browns are said to be refusing to even discuss the possibility of trading Garrett and in response, the defensive end has issued a threat.
Garrett is reportedly prepared to miss games in Cleveland next season if his wish isn’t granted.

The 29-year-old is reportedly preparing to sit games out if he doesn’t get his Cleveland exit
The 29-year-old went public with his trade request just over four weeks ago, saying he wanted ‘to compete for and win a Super Bowl.’ The Browns finished last in the AFC North at 3-14 this past season.
Garrett, the AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2023, was a finalist for the award again. His 14 sacks ranked second in the league, and he became the first player in NFL history to have 14 or more sacks in four consecutive seasons. He holds the franchise record with 102 1/2 sacks.
Garrett is under contract with the Browns for two more seasons under a five-year, $125 million extension he signed in 2020.
Starting quarterback Deshaun Watson, who missed most of the campaign with a torn Achilles, tore the same Achilles again in a setback on his road to recovery and it is unclear if he will play at all in 2025.
The Browns have the second pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and many expect them to take a quarterback.
If Cleveland did trade Garrett, there would be no shortage of suitors. Contenders such as the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders have openings on their defensive lines, as do a number of other improving teams, such as Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Falcons.
Meanwhile, reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, have been touted as a potential landing spot if general manager Howie Roseman gets his way.
Roseman is willing to move some of his current stars in order to launch a bid for Garrett, according to Dianna Russini.
