Rams GM Les Snead all but kills idea of Cooper Kupp return

It’s looking less and less likely that Cooper Kupp will be a Los Angeles Ram next season.

About a month after the star wide receiver revealed the team was trying to trade him, Rams general manager Les Snead all but confirmed that they were looking to move on.

ESPN reported Wednesday that Snead said Kupp’s coming back to the Rams is the “least likely” option this offseason, seemingly setting the table for his departure.

Kupp, 31, has a cap hit of $29.8 million for 2025 with $5 million guaranteed on a $12.5 million salary.

Next week, Kupp is due a roster bonus, meaning the team could decide to cut the veteran pᴀss-catcher if no deal comes to fruition before the ᴅᴇᴀᴅline.

The latest news comes after Kupp revealed plans by the team to deal him this offseason, a move the former Pro Bowler wasn’t a fan of.

“I was informed that the team will be seeking a trade immediately and will be working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships. I don’t agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA,” Kupp wrote on X on Feb. 3.

Kupp, who has played all eight of his NFL seasons with the Rams, played a mᴀssive role in the team’s Super Bowl 2022 win over the Bengals, taking home the MVP of the big game with eight receptions (two touchdowns) for 92 yards.

During that season, Kupp led the NFL in receptions (145), receiving yards (1,947) and receiving touchdowns (16) en route to the Offensive Player of the Year.

Injuries have plagued Kupp in recent seasons despite strong production when on the field, playing in just 33 regular games since 2022.
