Davante Adams’ biggest fans have wasted no time pitching where the star receiver should play next.
Not long before the Jets officially cut Adams, 32, Tuesday amid offseason buzz of an impending move, fans of the six-time Pro Bowler flooded his Instagram page with suggestions pertaining to his future NFL destination.
“Come back to green bay,” one user said of the Packers, where Adams caught pᴀsses for eight seasons from his BFF and fellow ex-Jet Aaron Rodgers.
“Come home Tae we need you let’s win a super bowl,” another pitched in the comments of a March 2 post.
Adams began his career with the Packers in 2014 after being selected 53rd overall out of Fresno State.
He was traded to the Raiders after the 2021 season, linking up with his former college quarterback, Derek Carr.
Las Vegas underwent a slew of changes following Adams’ arrival, including Carr’s release in February 2023 and the firing of head coach Josh McDaniels midway through the 2023 season.
Although Adams was rumored to be frustrated with the Las Vegas franchise for some time, he wasn’t moved to the Jets until Oct. 2024, paving the way for a highly hyped reunion with Rodgers, 41.
That tandem failed to live up to expectations, with the Jets finishing the year at 5-12 and missing the playoffs.
Adams had 67 catches for 854 yards and seven touchdowns in his 11 games in New York.
The Jets, now in a new era under coach Aaron Glenn and GM Darren Mougey, decided to cut Adams Tuesday after failing to find a trade partner.
They’ll save a little over $29.8 million in cap space.
Though some Adams fans are clamoring for a second run in Green Bay — where Rodgers’ successor, Jordan Love, has led the Packers to the playoffs the past two seasons — others are angling for different postseason contenders.
“Come to the Chargers man!” a fan exclaimed.
“Davante please come to Buffalo,” another posted.
The Chargers and Bills are currently quarterbacked by Justin Herbert and reigning league MVP Josh Allen, respectively.
It remains to be seen whether Adams’ next chapter will include Rodgers.
The Jets confirmed in February they’d be moving on from Rodgers after two seasons.
The veteran quarterback has drawn interest from the Giants following their failed Matthew Stafford pursuit.
Rodgers landed in New York in 2023 following 18 seasons in Green Bay.
