NFL legend Brett Favre has called out Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky following his White House war of words with Donald Trump.
The Ukrainian leader’s meeting with the US President and Vice President JD Vance deteriorated into a blistering shouting match, bringing peace talks between Ukraine and Russia to a screeching halt Friday.
The tense showdown inside the Oval Office was sparked when Trump took offense to how Zelensky treated Vance, who accused the Ukrainian of being ungrateful, in front of the cameras.
After the contentious meeting, Trump announced he had asked Zelensky to leave.
The Oval Office spat has left many Americans divided but Favre joined the likes of Dave Portnoy in hitting out at Zelensky.
‘This was a bit unreal to watch. A foreign leader speaking to a sitting U.S. President like this,’ Favre wrote on X in response to a clip of the argument. ‘Glad Donald Trump and JD Vance are standing up for America.’

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote:. ‘It’s amazing what comes out through emotion, and I have determined that President Zelensky is not ready for Peace if America is involved.
‘Because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations. I don’t want advantage, I want PEACE. He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for Peace.’
After the cameras left the Oval Office, Zelensky went to a holding room in the West Wing. He and Trump did not meet again.
