Bill Belichick to star on HBO's Hard Knocks as UNC coach... after being snubbed in 24-year NFL career

Bill Belichick is finally set to appear on HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’ as University of North Carolina head coach after being overlooked throughout his legendary 24-year NFL career.

According to Front Office Sports, Belichick – who recently made a stunning switch to college football after 29 seasons in the NFL – and his UNC program will be the featured team on the upcoming season of the popular fly-on-the-wall series.

Despite the success he enjoyed as New England Patriots coach, the 72-year-old never featured on Hard Knocks in over two decades in the NFL.

But that is now set to change after HBO opted to focus its upcoming series on North Carolina, which will become the first ever college team to be chronicled for the show.

The decision to turn to him reportedly came after no NFL team would agree to sign on following last season’s controversial series on the New York Giants.

The Giants’ Hard Knocks season included filmed conversations that general manager Joe Schoen had regarding the future of free-agent running back Saquon Barkley, which reportedly caused teams to shy away.

Barkley wound up signing with NFC East rival Philadelphia and led the Eagles to a Super Bowl LIX championship earlier this month in New Orleans.

NFL Films VP Keith Cossrow told Pat McAfee in January: ‘We’re talking to a bunch of teams about it. But we’ll see what happens. I mean, we need a willing participant on that one. We’re not going to force someone to do that show.’

Belichick, who is currently dating 24-year-old ex-cheerleader Jordon Hudson, is gearing up for his first season as a college coach later this year.

The Patriots legend was recently in New Orleans with Hudson for Super Bowl LIX, where the loved-up couple watched the Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs.

DailyMail.com exclusively revealed how Bill and Jordon stunned fans when they rocked up at a bar in the Big Easy a few days out from the big game, having also been spotted at a charity event the night before.

Hudson sparked engagement rumors at that charity event when she was seen flaunting a huge diamond ring on her finger, just days after she gushed on her Instagram story over a bouquet of roses she’d received.

Belichick has found love again with a partner almost 50 years his junior following his split from longtime girlfriend Linda Holliday, 62.

Hudson is said to have been dating the iconic NFL coach for three years – although they only went public last year.

Belichick has been settling into life in Chapel Hill since officially becoming the head football coach at North Carolina last month.

The eight-time Super Bowl winner (six as head coach of the Patriots) will be paid handsomely at $10million per year.

If he were to terminate his contract before June 1, he would owe the school $10million, though that figure becomes just $1million on or after that date.

While Belichick’s preparations will be well underway, UNC’s season will oficially kick off on September 1 against TCU.
