There is interest from Aaron Rodgers’ camp, who are doing some of his offseason bidding, to stay in the Big Apple, but with the New York Giants for the soon-to-be free agent.
The New York Jets have already informed Rodgers they will not retain him once free agency begins, with him expected to be cut after June 1.
Rodgers’ two-season stay with the Jets was a disaster with his Achilles injury in year one and a 5-12 record this season.
The Giants were prioritizing acquiring Matthew Stafford, but that is no longer possible as he plans to stay in Los Angeles with a new contract.
New York’s NFC team knew it was not the ‘top dog’ among the teams needing a new quarterback, per CBS Sports. However, Rodgers may be the Giants next-best option.
Over the last few weeks, calls have been made to teams who could have potential interest in Rodgers. The Giants were one of those franchises, receiving multiple calls from the 41-year-old’s camp.

Rodgers will be a free agent for the first time later this year, with him making his priorities clear for what he wants in his next team earlier this month.
‘If they want you… if they got a good team,’ Rodgers said.
Rodgers added he was ‘enjoying the sunshine’ on the west coast, giving a third want for his next home.
One of those three is a guarantee, as the money Rodgers would want to sign for his next team would make it clear he is wanted. The other two are far from locked in.
The Giants may also want until April to declare their wants on a quarterback with the No 3 selection in the NFL Draft.
New York is guaranteed a chance at one of the perceived top-two quarterbacks, Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders, or at Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter.
Rodgers will be helped by the free-agent quarterback market not being strong this year, with Daniel Jones obviously not an option for the Giants.
With Stafford off the board, Russell Wilson, Justin Fields, and Sam Darnold, along with Rodgers are the biggest prizes left for unattached signal callers.
