The Browns aren’t about to trade their best player just because he asked them for a ticket out of Cleveland.
As Browns general manager Andrew Berry told reporters on Tuesday at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis, Cleveland is not interested in trading defensive end Myles Garrett.
‘We can’t imagine a situation where not having Myles is best for the Browns,’ he said.
Previously, Berry told reporters that he would reject a trade offer for Garrett, even if it included two first-round picks.
‘Correct,’ Berry told reporters after the season. ‘You can put that on the record.’
Berry said the Browns have had ‘plenty of dialogue with Myles’ and ‘understand the frustration.’ Berry had previously said the team would not deal Garrett, adding he anticipated Garrett going directly from the Browns to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Garrett went public with his trade request just over three weeks ago, saying he wanted ‘to compete for and win a Super Bowl.’ The Browns finished last in the AFC North at 3-14 this past season.
Garrett, the AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2023, was a finalist for the award again. His 14 sacks ranked second in the league, and he became the first player in NFL history to have 14 or more sacks in four consecutive seasons. He holds the franchise record with 102 1/2 sacks.
Garrett is under contract with the Browns for two more seasons under a five-year, $125 million extension he signed in 2020.
Starting quarterback Deshaun Watson, who missed most of the campaign with a torn Achilles, tore the same Achilles again in a setback on his road to recovery and it is unclear if he will play at all in 2025.
The Browns have the second pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and many expect them to take a quarterback.
If Cleveland did trade Garrett, there would be no shortage of suitors. Contenders such as the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders have openings on their defensive lines, as do a number of other improving teams, such as Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Falcons.
