Patrick Mahomes is going on a revenge tour after Super Bowl 2025 loss: Chiefs star

Patrick Mahomes will be “on a mission” to redeem himself after the Chiefs’ 40-22 loss to the Eagles in Super Bowl 2025, according to Kansas City defensive end Charles Omenihu.

During Thursday’s installment of “Up & Adams” on FanDuel TV, Omenihu predicted that the quarterback will have a “big time revenge tour” next season after the blowout loss at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Feb. 9.

“Just extreme focus, taking even more control of the organization,” Omenihu said when host Kay Adams asked what Mahomes’ revenge tour would look like. “We’re gonna get my boy [wideout] Rashee [Rice] back, so that’s going to be great. With how [Xavier Worthy] has been playing, and hopefully be able to figure out the rest of the pieces.

“I think it’s going to be big time. He probably felt like he didn’t have his best performance and him being who he is and being the best quarterback in the league, he wants to come back and have one of those big seasons. So, I think it’ll be like somebody who’s on a mission for sure.”

Rice was sidelined with a knee injury that kept him on injured reserve for most of the season, including the Super Bowl.

Omenihu won his first-career Super Bowl тιтle alongside Mahomes with the Chiefs in the 2023-24 season.

The six-year veteran recalled watching the Chiefs’ loss to the Eagles in Super Bowl 2025 three times over.

“I’m over it,” he said. “I watched it three times. We had exit meetings, I talked to the coaches. You can’t go back in time, you can’t dwell. Coach Reid said it perfectly like, ‘You can’t hang your head on this.’

“You gotta retool and refuel. You kinda just gotta learn from it… I just watched my bad plays over and over.”

Omenihu is set to be an unrestricted free agent after signing a two-year, $16 million contract with Kansas City in March 2023.

The Eagles ruined the Chiefs’ quest for a historic three-peat — and redeemed themselves after a crushing 38-35 loss to the Chiefs in Super Bowl 2023 in Glendale, Ariz.

Philadelphia’s top-ranked defense shut down Mahomes without sending a single blitz, pressuring him on 16 of his 42 dropbacks.

Mahomes was sacked a career-high six times and took 11 hits.

He threw two interceptions, including a pick-six in the second quarter to Eagles rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean, who celebrated his 22nd birthday Sunday.

Afterward, Mahomes took responsibility for the Chiefs’ loss and promised to be better next season.

“I let y’all down today,” he wrote on X after the game. “I’ll always continue to work and try and learn and be better for it.

Mahomes kept a low profile after the Super Bowl and was not pH๏τographed publicly.

He attended his grandfather’s funeral in Texas on Monday.

Randy Mahomes, the father of Patrick’s mother Randi, pᴀssed away at age 78 last Friday after entering hospice.

A cause of death was not disclosed at the time.
