Deion Sanders’ three-word message to son Shedeur while fighting to be No. 1 NFL draft pick

Deion Sanders has a simple message for his son Shedeur with the NFL Draft process in full swing.

“Embrace the moment,” Sanders said when asked about his advice to the potential No. 1 pick in a Sirius XM interview on Radio Row during Super Bowl week. “But he’s so poised and polished that he get it, man. Shedeur been riding with me for a long time, so he really get it.”

Shedeur, who is expected to be the first or second quarterback off the board, has been meeting with teams and preparing for his workouts that could be the deciding factor of where he will be picked.

Sanders also said that he advised Sheduer not to listen to the media.

“I told him, first of all, don’t believe nothing that they say. Because people are going to criticize you so you fall to them. That’s how it is. It’s positioning right now. So don’t believe none of that. It’s positioning right now. But he’s speaking to the guys that make the moves, so he’s not listening to the media,” Deion said. “He’s speaking to head coaches, GM’s and all of that of the first three teams, pretty much. Because that’s where we think he’s going to land, somewhere in there.”

Shedeur and Giants coach Brian Daboll appear to have solid chemistry together, as the two exchanged a slick handshake at the Shrine Bowl and were seen talking alongside general manager Joe Schoen.

Ahead of the Giants at No. 3 are the Cleveland Browns at No. 2 and the Tennessee тιтans at No. 1, although it is unclear if either will actually take a quarterback.

тιтans president of football operations Chad Brinker told reporters in January they “won’t pᴀss on a generational talent” with the first pick, leading to plenty of speculation that they were narrowing in on Penn State pᴀss rusher Abdul Carter or two-way Colorado superstar Travis Hunter.

Meanwhile, the Giants are said to be looking into trading for Rams star quarterback Matthew Stafford, which would likely put them in a spot where they could pivot off a quarterback with the third pick.

Shedeur has been training at UNLV with fellow expected top draft pick Cam Ward and the two exchanged some playful compeтιтive barbs in a recent video.
