Tom Brady has been accused of an ‘unprecedented’ autograph change by an expert, who added that the seven-time Super Bowl champion showed a ‘lack of respect’ to his playing predecessors.

Brady, who retired in early 2023 after a legendary 23-year-career, is considered a lock for the Hall of Fame, though he won’t actually be eligible for induction until 2028.

But that hasn’t stopped the 47-year-old from inscribing autographs with ‘HOF 2028’ in advance.

According to cllct, at least seven cards have already been given the inscription, and are part of the ‘TB12 Collection’ from PSA/DNA.

And Brady’s decision to prematurely give some cards the Hall of Fame caption was slammed by autograph expert Steve Grad.

‘His lack of respect for the people that came before him and earned the honor is obvious,’ Grad told cllct.

The outlet added that many collectors will pay a premium for autograph cards that have an added inscription.

However, it’s an ‘unwritten rule’ that players shouldn’t use a ‘HOF’ inscription before they are actually voted in.

PSA has said that the cards inscribed ‘HOF 2028’ won’t actually be sold until after the quarterback’s presumed Hall of Fame induction that year.

A Brady rookie card with the ‘HOF 2028’ is listed on PSA’s Ebay page for $6,600, but is listed on the site as being out of stock. 

The company wrote on X in October that several cards from the ‘TB12 Collection’ would be put up for auction on Ebay in the coming months.

Brady recently wrapped up a tumultuous first season as Fox’s lead NFL analyst, as he called the Eagles’ demolition of the Chiefs in New Orleans.
