Chiefs fear Josh Allen and Bills plan move for Hollywood Brown as he enters free agency after Super Bowl

There are concerns high up in the Kansas City Chiefs organization that wide receiver Hollywood Brown is a target for the Buffalo Bills.

The 27-year-old Brown is entering free agency after the Chiefs lost the Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles and is expected to have an array of teams in pursuit of him.

The Chiefs, who don’t currently have too much cap space to work with, are concerned that the Bills are leading the chase, according to ESPN.

The report adds that Bills quarterback Josh Allen has apparently always wanted to play with Brown and that now, the AFC team are lining up a move.

The Chiefs beat the Bills at Arrowhead Stadium in the AFC Championship game to reach the Super Bowl, ending Buffalo’s postseason hopes for the fourth time since 2020.

Brown had a disrupted year in Kansas City, hurting his shoulder on the first play of preseason and needing surgery. He returned for the Dec. 21 victory against Houston Texans.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was thrilled with the arrival of Brown last summer and is likely to push for him to return to Kansas City on a longer deal.

Speaking last July, Mahomes said: ‘It is a great group that all mesh well together and so I’m excited for their future. The sky is the limit.

‘He (Brown) can run those over the middle routes, he can run really good (shorter) routes and he can run deep.

‘It’s not like fast is the only thing that he can do and you’ve seen that kind of really kind of transpire over these last few days of practice and he keeps getting better and better.’

For his part, Brown said before the Super Bowl that he was not considering his future in the game beyond the Eagles showdown in New Orleans.

And after the 40-22 loss, Brown said on social media: ‘Proud of the guys, season I’ll never forget.

‘Don’t know what the future holds but Thank you Jesus for the opportunity we had tonight…Back To Work.’
