Mavericks ᴀssistant coach Darrell Armstrong was arrested Saturday for aggravated ᴀssault with a ᴅᴇᴀᴅly weapon after allegedly hitting his girlfriend with a gun, according to the Dallas Morning News.
The incident occurred on Saturday when Dallas police responded to a call around 3:45 a.m.
Armstrong and his girlfriend were allegedly arguing inside their apartment — after he reportedly saw a message from another woman on his phone — before he struck her with a gun and then threatened to shoot her, according to the Morning News.

The situation escalated when Armstrong is alleged to have struck the female victim with a gun and then threatened to shoot her, the Dallas TV station reported.
The Mavericks released a statement acknowledging that they are aware of the incident but did not name Armstrong, only referring to him as a “member of our staff” and an “employee.”
