NFL fans slam Chiefs after 'embarrᴀssing' excuse for Super Bowl humiliation emerges

NFL fans brushed off the Kansas City Chiefs’ poor excuse for their embarrᴀssing performance at Super Bowl LIX.

One win away from a historic three-peat, the Chiefs were steamrolled and demoralized by a well-rounded Philadelphia Eagles team in a 40-22 victory.

While the Eagles’ remarkable defense had the Chiefs in a chokehold for four quarters, Fox Sports’ Henry McKenna reported the Chiefs’ attempt to justify their performance.

‘Before the game, a Chiefs coach told me that media members had been asking him if going to Super Bowls ever got old,’ McKenna wrote. ‘And he bluntly told me: ‘It does.’

‘There was legit Super Bowl fatigue from this Chiefs team,’ McKenna continued. ‘It was completely clear in the first half, when things escalated quickly.’

Fans quickly and bluntly dismissed the reasoning as a lame excuse in the comment section.

‘And when you ask Tom what his favorite ring was, he’d always say ‘The next one,’ one fan wrote.

‘Using excuses like this is why they’ll never deserve to be compared to the Patriots. Completely different levels,’ said another.

‘Completely well rested in the AFC championship game but fatigued after 2 weeks rest in not even a full half a football. Yes totally makes sense,’ a third fan stated.

‘How is it even possible to get tired of playing the biggest game with the chance to win the Lombardi? Lol,’ scoffed a fourth.

A fifth user said: ‘There is no BS called Superbowl fatigue. They were ᴀss all year. Bailed out every Superbowl with the refs. They just got exposed without the refs calling back the posterboys turnovers.’

Nonetheless, Philadelphia shut the Chiefs down completely, suffocating Patrick Mahomes and the offense in a defensive masterpiece. The Eagles led the dance, 24-0, at halftime with Hurts finding more success than his Chiefs counterpart right off the gates.

Philadelphia secured their second-ever тιтle and avenged their Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs in 2023.
