The Chiefs’ Super Bowl afterparty was as sad as you’d imagine

Travis Kelce once yelled in celebration, quoting the Beastie Boys: “You got to fight, for your right, to party.”

Well, it turns out, when you lose 40-22 in the Super Bowl and don’t really put up much of a fight, you’re not going to have much of a party.

Videos have emerged showcasing the Chiefs’ afterparty following their Super Bowl 2025 setback and they are quite depressing.

DJ Dillon Francis provided perhaps the saddest look behind the curtain while he performed in front of an empty crowd.

“Sometimes you have to go back to your roots and DJ for 3 people,” Francis captioned his Instagram post.

Other performers included MGK and Shaboozey, who at least had a crowd around him while he sang his hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” to tepid reaction.

You may be wondering why the Chiefs would have an afterparty after being routed, but it is customary for both teams to have venues rented out in preparation of a victory.

But needless to say, Chiefs fans and players weren’t in the mood to live it up after the Eagles throughly dismantled them to prevent the first Super Bowl three-peat.

Kelce — and we presume Taylor Swift — didn’t even have it in him to party, instead FaceTiming with The Chainsmokers, who performed at the empty bash.

Kelce and Patrick Mahomes laid low back at their H๏τel rooms after the game, Page Six reported.

Francis detailed how he got asked “last minute” to play and prepared for 11,000 people.

“But then the Chiefs got destroyed and…” he wrote in the video. “Nobody showed up.”

One particularly cringeworthy moment showed Francis going through his set in front of a barren dance floor, with the DJ clearly trying to have some fun while acknowledging the awkwardness.

“I even tried to get 3 people there to sing along…,” he wrote before noting he got “4 claps.”

As they say in the business, the show must go on … even if for just three to four people.
