How Erin Andrews consoled Travis Kelce after disappointing Super Bowl 2025 loss

Erin Andrews shared an emotional moment with Travis Kelce after the Eagles steamrolled the Chiefs, 40-22, in Super Bowl 2025 in New Orleans.

During the latest installment of the “Calm Down” podcast, the Fox NFL sideline reporter recalled seeing a somber Kelce right before the Chiefs тιԍнт end went to his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s suite at Caesars Superdome on Sunday.

“The sH๏τ that they have of him coming out of the locker room, and now we know he was going up to the suite — I didn’t, I was actually coming off the field and he was just walking out,” Andrews told her co-host, Fox Sports host Charissa Thompson. “And I was like f–k it, and I just turned around and I walked up to him, because I was like I don’t want to bug him but I was like, ‘No, that’s our friend and this really sucks.’

“And I just walked up to him and he stopped and I gave him a big hug and I was just like ‘I’m so sorry, I love you, I’m so sorry.’ They’re humans too, you know, this just in.”

Andrews and Kelce have been friends for years, and the NFL star has praised the “Calm Down” duo for championing his relationship with Swift.

The couple began dating in the summer of 2023, after Andrews and Thompson suggested that Kelce should pursue her.

Swift, 35, was booed by the crowd when she was shown on the Jumbotron in New Orleans.

Andrews was not seen in the footage shared by “Entertainment Tonight” that showed a downcast Kelce walking through the stadium hallways to see his friends and family in the suite.

Kelce, who sported a ’70s-inspired outfit, finished with four receptions for 39 yards in the blowout loss, which spoiled the Chiefs’ quest for a historic three-peat.

The Eagles got their revenge after a crushing 38-35 loss to the Chiefs in Super Bowl 2023.

Kelce’s playing future is uncertain as he faces retirement questions following his 12 season, all with Kansas City.

The three-time Super Bowl champ, who turns 36 in October, addressed it on his “New Heights” podcast with brother Jason Kelce on Wednesday.

“I know everybody wants to know whether I am playing next year and right now I am just kicking everything down the road,” Kelce said. “I am kicking every can I can down the road. I am not making any crazy decisions, but right now the biggest thing is just being there for my teammates and being there for my coaches understanding there’s a lot that goes into this thing. I’ve been fortunate over the past five, six years, I’ve played more football than anybody…

“The fact that we keep going to these AFC Championships and Super Bowls, that means I’m playing an extra three games more than everybody else in the entire league. That’s a lot of wear and tear on your body.

“It’s a lot of time in the building … That process can be grueling. It can weigh on you. It can make you better and it can drive you crazy. Right now, it was one of those things where it was driving me crazy this year. It happens as you tail off towards the back nine of your career.”
