Jason, Travis Kelce ‘would go months’ without talking before starting ‘New Heights’ podcast

The Kelce brothers haven’t always been in close contact regularly, Jason revealed in a newly published interview.

In fact, the former Eagles center explained that “The New Heights Podcast” had helped bring Jason and Travis Kelce closer together since it debuted in 2022.

“The best part of the podcast is just getting to talk to Trav,” Jason told Bustle. “Before we started the podcast, we would go months sometimes without talking to each other. The podcast forces us once a week to sit down and talk to each other.”

Both Kelce brothers have made their mark in the NFL, with Jason playing all 13 seasons of his career with the Eagles before retiring in March 2024.

Travis has spent 12 years in the NFL — all of which have been in Kansas City — and is now facing questions about whether he’ll hang up the cleats after the Chiefs fell in the Super Bowl over the weekend.

Jason suggested it had been their busy schedules that had previously limited their time with one another.

“We both have a lot going on in our lives, and it’s been fun — after all these years being in different cities and fighting to make it in the football landscape — to rekindle the amount of times that we talk and the closeness that we have growing up our entire lives,” Jason said.

The pair’s podcast has become a hit that has only been bolstered by the fact that Travis has been dating pop icon Taylor Swift.

Jason, now an ESPN analyst, was on hand in New Orleans — along with Swift and the rest of the Kelce family — to cheer on Travis during the Chiefs’ ill-fated Super Bowl matchup with the Eagles.

Jason admitted that the “game was odd for me to watch” in a post on X on Tuesday.

“On one hand, I wanted what is best for my brother, and to see his success,” he continued. “And on the other hand, there are so many people, teammates, and coaches, in the Philadelphia Eagles organization that I care deeply about, many of whom I owe my own success to throughout my career.”
