Saquon Barkley opens up about what Giants told him after Eagles Super Bowl win

Saquon Barkley — like so many others — has seen the viral “Hard Knocks” clip where Giants owner John Mara admitted he would lose sleep if the Eagles signed the star running back.

Well, Philadelphia did just that and won a Super Bowl with Barkley front and center all year.

On the “Tonight Show” on Tuesday with Jimmy Fallon, Barkley — and fellow Eagles teammate Jalen Hurts — were shown the clip from the now-infamous episode from the offseason edition of the HBO program.

When asked by Fallon if he had heard from the Giants since he won the Super Bowl, Barkley answered in the affirmative and said the messages were all positive.

On top of that, Barkley said the snippet from the show does not color how he feels about Big Blue.

“That clip doesn’t really display my relationship I have with that organization from top to bottom. They are the people that brought me in. After the game, so many guys and people from that organization reached out to me and were super happy, one, for my birthday and see me hold that Lombardi Trophy up because they know the hard work that I put in. That clip is in the past. I’m happy to be an Eagle.”

Barkley likened his situation to the one Marshall Faulk, who was drafted by the Colts and spent five years in Indianapolis before getting traded to the Rams to help bolster what became known as the Greatest Show on Turf when he won the 2000 MVP.

The Philadelphia running back, who got his first All-Pro honors this year, hopes his career shapes out the same way as the Hall of Famer Faulk.

“Now I’m just trying to be remembered as an Eagle,” Barkley added.
