Göbekli Tepe, located in southeastern Turkey, is an archaeological site of immense historical significance. Discovered in 1963 by American archaeologists, it gained prominence when German archaeologist Klaus Schmidt began excavations in 1995.

The site, dated to around 9600 BCE, predates Stonehenge by about 6,000 years, challenging previous understandings of prehistoric societies. Göbekli Tepe features mᴀssive stone pillars arranged in circular formations, adorned with intricate carvings of animals.

The ongoing excavations persist in revealing further insights into its purpose and the individuals behind its construction, fundamentally altering our comprehension of early human civilization. To date, only a fraction—approximately 6-10%—of the site has been unearthed.
