14-Year-Old Footballer Dies After Being Struck by Ball During Match in Argentina

A tragic incident in Argentina has claimed the life of a 14-year-old youth footballer after he was struck by a powerful sH๏τ during a local match, leaving his family, teammates, and community in deep mourning.

The player, identified as Benjamín Valentín Donofrio, was taking part in a youth football game in La Banda when the incident occurred. According to witnesses, the ball struck him in the chest and stomach area during play.

Shortly after the impact, Benjamín reportedly fell to the ground in visible pain. After a brief moment, he managed to stand up again, appearing to recover enough to continue moving. However, just seconds later, he collapsed once more in front of his teammates.

Witnesses describe a chaotic and distressing scene as the teenager then began convulsing on the field. Emergency services were immediately called to the pitch as coaches and bystanders attempted to ᴀssist him.

Paramedics arrived quickly and transported him to a nearby hospital, where medical staff performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in an effort to revive him. Despite prolonged and intensive resuscitation efforts, doctors were unable to restore his life.

Benjamín was a youth player for Club Atlético Sarmiento de La Banda, which released a public statement expressing profound sorrow over the loss of one of its young athletes. The club described him as a pᴀssionate player with a bright future ahead.

The Banda and Robles Prosecutor’s Unit has launched an investigation and ordered a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death, including whether commotio cordis played a role in the tragedy.

News of the incident has deeply affected the local sporting community, with tributes pouring in from teammates, coaches, and residents who knew the young footballer.
