Super Bowl 2025 sets eye-popping viewership record

Super Bowl 2025 sets eye-popping viewership record

Not only was there a new Super Bowl champ on Sunday, it seems there was a new Super Bowl viewership record set.

Super Bowl 2025 between the Chiefs and Eagles drew a projected 126 million viewers across Fox, Fox Deportes, Telemundo, streaming service Tubi and NFL digital properties, according to an announcement by Fox on Monday.

The final numbers won’t come out until Tuesday, but the projected numbers – based on Nielson fast national figures and Tubi/NFL first-party analytics – surpᴀss the 123.7 million viewers that tuned into last year’s Super Bowl which had been the previous record holder.

The game, which ended up being a 40-22 win for the Eagles, saw a projected peak audience of 135.7 million viewers from 8 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. during the second quarter, according to the release.

Tubi – the Fox-owned streamer – accounted for 13.6 million viewers alone during the record-setting night for Super Bowl viewership.

The numbers came amid some thoughts that viewership stats could be down considering the game turned into a blowout as Saquon Barkley, Jalen Hurts and the rest of the Eagles dominated the Chiefs to end their bid for three straight Super Bowl тιтles.

Even the halftime show, which has been a topic of conversation since it occurred, drew 131.2 million viewers as rapper Kendrick Lamar took the stage at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

The Super Bowl has seen viewership growth over the past few years.

The Chiefs had been a part of the past three Super Bowl games, but failed to claim an historic three-peat.

In 2024, the Super Bowl, which aired on CBS, Paramount+, Nickelodeon, Univision, CBS Sports, Univision and NFL digital properties had a 7.47 percent increase in viewership from 2023, which drew 115.1 million viewers on Fox.

The Super Bowl will not air again on Fox until 2029 with NBC/Peacock slated to carry the game next year followed by ABC/ESPN/ESPN+ in 2027 and CBS/Paramount+ in 2028.
