Not many thought that the Philadelphia Eagles would steamroll the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 2025 the way they did. 

Eagles All-Pro running back Saquon Barkley was even pinching himself afterward.

“This s–t don’t even feel real,” Barkley said to his fiancée Anna Congdon on the field after the game.

Barkley tallied nearly 100 total yards en route to a 40-22 Super Bowl victory over the Chiefs in what was a far cry from his six seasons with the Giants, when he reached the playoffs one time.

The moment was overwhelming for Barkley, even after he said in the leadup to the Super Bowl that his 2024 proposal to Congdon was more nerve-wracking than the big game.

“I’m just not good with stuff like that. I’m a lover boy, but I’m not like a clever lover boy. I’m simple and basic,” he said.

The couple met in their time at Penn State and now, an engagement ring and two children later, celebrated together on the biggest stage.

Holding the Lombardi trophy while Congdon held Saquon Jr., Barkley gave his 2-year-old son a chance to kiss the trophy. 

In an opportunity for Saquon Jr. to do what so many winning players do with the Lombardi, he gave it a long thought before humorously pᴀssing on the opportunity. Perhaps the moment was surreal for the entire family.

This was the first season of Barkley’s three-year, $37.75 million contract he signed with Philadelphia last offseason.

The former Giant just had the best season of his career with 2,005 yards rushing and capped it off with a championship ring. 

Pairing his excellent season and that Super Bowl ring with the engagement ring he revealed at the start of this month, it’s safe to say that Barkley is having himself a dreamlike run on and off the field.
