Philadelphia Eagles drop Super Bowl parade hint with deleted social media post after beating the Chiefs

The Philadelphia Eagles dropped a major hint as to when their celebratory parade will take place after their historic Super Bowl LIX victory on Sunday.

For the second time in six years the Birds clinched a championship, thanks to a 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

Fans took to the streets of Philadelphia to celebrate the win in the hours that followed it and the Eagles themselves dropped a hint as to when the trophy parade might be.

In a now-deleted post on X, the team’s account wrote: ‘See ya Friday’. It’s unconfirmed as to why the post was taken down.

It would make for the first Eagles Super Bowl parade since 2018, when they secured victory over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, 41-33.

Friday’s parade is likely to be a chaotic afternoon, if the wild scenes that ensued shortly after their Super Bowl LIX victory are anything to go by.

Within minutes of the final whistle confirming the Eagles’ 40-22 win, Broad Street descended into chaos as Eagles fans took to the streets in an uncontrolled, alcohol-fueled frenzy.

Throngs of fans flooded the streets, but what started as chants and fireworks soon escalated into reckless vandalism.

Videos captured unruly fans jumping on top of cars, climbing on top of dump trucks, bus shelters and scaling traffic light poles after police decided not to grease the city’s light poles.

Crowds tried to flip a police vehicle at Broad and Chestnut Streets and and outside the city’s Macy’s a group pulled down two sets of traffic lights before smashing them to pieces.

Police were out on foot, motorbikes and on horseback all lined up in front of City Hall in an attempt to deter fans from bad behavior but they were vastly outnumbered – many of them drunk after five hours of football.

Philadelphia City Hall was lit up in the team colors as devoted fans spilled out of nearby bars, wasting no time in turning the city into the ultimate victory party.

The City of Brotherly Love transformed into a sea of green and white as fans began filling up Broad Street in downtown Philly, setting off green fireworks and chugging pints of beer in an Eagles Super Bowl win tradition.

Within minutes of the historic win, Broad Street was packed with jubilant fans chanting and singing ‘Fly Eagles, fly!’ following their unexpected victory.

Some fans climbed light poles, embraced strangers, and danced in the streets, reveling in a victory that had been six years in the making.

However, fans will be urged to take care when celebrating the victory, after the horrific scenes that saw one supporter left on life support after he was filmed plunging from a light pole following their NFC Championship win last month.

The unidentified 18-year-old sustained a brain injury from the fall at 15th and Market streets in Center City Philadelphia, ABC reports.

He was rushed to Jefferson Hospital after the incident. No further identifying details have been released about the teen at this stage.

His fall came after Mayor Cherelle Parker begged fans not to climb light poles as is customary after a win.

‘You don’t want to be in a celebratory moment, you know, have a tragedy occur,’ Mayor Cherelle Parker warned adding, ‘Please don’t climb the poles.’

Video on social media showed another fan falling from a light pole after trying to grab onto a flag which ripped.
