Social media goes nuts for stirring Secret Service Super Bowl ad featuring Trump shooting: 'Absolutely EPIC'

Social media went wild for a patriotic ad for the US Secret Service during Super Bowl that featured iconic scenes from American history including the attempted ᴀssᴀssination of Donald Trump. 

The ad was called ‘EPIC’ and cost the Secret Service $2 million to produce although the air time was donated to the Service, meaning it didn’t have to pay millions to get its messaging in front of the lucrative Super Bowl crowd. 

‘The Secret Service’s Super Bowl recruitment ad featuring President Trump is absolutely EPIC Making USSS Great Again!’ wrote one impᴀssioned viewer.

‘President Trump knows how to get things done, recruiting the best talent for Secret Service is a great move, no more woke hires,’ wrote another.

‘If this doesn’t make you wanna be a secret service agent I don’t know what will!’ added a third.

‘The U.S. Secret Service put on an extremely moving Super Bowl ad to RECRUIT. Got to say that it hit me right in my ole patriotic heart and kind of teared me up!’ tweeted another user who appreciated the message.         

‘For 160 years, our agency has been a witness to history; and since 1901 we’ve protected the most important people and events, including The Super Bowl’, the agency tweeted. 

Trump’s appearance in the ad came after he was nearly ᴀssᴀssinated by a gunman at a rally last July in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The attempt on the president’s life revealed stunning problems within the Secret Service, including a staffing shortage the agency appears eager to remedy with the Super Bowl ad which also played on the jumbotron at the Caesars Superdome with 76,000-spectators.

Secret Service Director Sean Curran told CNN through a spokesperson that ‘he empowered the team to identify a novel and expedient approach that leveraged one of the most recognizable Directors to produce a representation of the men and women behind the Secret Service within nine days while ensuring compliance with requisite rules.’

News of the ad broke after Bay was seen shaking hands with Trump about last week ago as the president was about to board Air Force One at Joint Base Andrews.   

Bay was reportedly shooting the Secret Service ad at the military outpost in Maryland.

The ad showcases the agency’s role in protecting the nation’s leaders and used images and video of Secret Service agents and former presidents including John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan, both of whom had high-profile attempts on their lives. 

Kennedy was ᴀssᴀssinated in November 1963 during a visit to Texas, while Reagan survived a bullet to the left armpit in March 1981.

There was also images if 9/11 including President George W. Bush being formed of the news, while a pH๏τo was also included of a determined Trump who survived an attempt on his life at the Butler, Pennsylvania rally last July. 

‘America was founded on an idea of freedom. America’s always stepped forward in time of need throughout our short but powerful history,’ says a voice-over in the video.

Trump is the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl in person and was able to see the ad for himself.

‘I came up with the concept for the PSA that America was founded on the idea of freedom,’ Bay said in a statement. 

‘Throughout our short but powerful history as Americans, we have always stepped forward in time of need. This was a spot to honor the true silent heroes who protect the leaders of our democracy.’ 

The ad was sH๏τ and produced in less than two weeks.
